The black hole of the stairscase pulls you down. It's like it's sucking the energy out of the room. I really love the setting. It feels like Bogey and Bacall will be arriving soon. The photo gives you the feel of a film noir. It invites you to go exploring. That's why I give you 5 stars for impact. 5 stars also for technique. The staircase is just in the middle of the picture. The proportions are correct and well balanced. The picture is als very sharp wich gives us good detail. I wish I was that good in taking pictures...
Yet another *great* shot. Your picture seem to improve as time goes by, I'm very fascinated by this one. The spiraling sense given by this perspective, gives this staircase almost a living movement. It's a haunting vision, if you look at the center it all seems almost endless. And the infinite movement is also improved by the choice of blend colors and raw textures on the stairs. I really like the contrast as well, you didn't blur it which is great. I like to see the dust and dirt on the walls and floor, it almost seems..touchable. Not to mention that writing "Hush!" near the window... it might be a case but... it's deeply creepy. Surely, this picture looks like a horror move frame or a riddle during a game. It's unsettling. Thus, marvellous in my eyes.
this is really nice! good focus and perfect contrast. (: i've been to this place in Cheratte a couple of days ago, i also made some pictures. i can see that this was uploaded in 2009, that's been a while.. but i guess nothing much really have changed ever since, maybe some more empty spraycans, footprints and some extra dust all over the place! anyway: my compliments for this one.
